Bioplastic stool
Bioplastics are beginning to be used as an alternative to petroleum plastics, for example in packaging. In this project I looked at bioplastics to explore the possibilities and potential in creating sustainable furniture.
This is a stool I designed and made from bioplastic (white vinegar, gelatin, cornflower) and sheep’s wool.  The legs are made from native ash, which I burnt and polished. I cut a groove down the legs to allow the light colour of the ash to show though matching the colour of the top.
